Art in the Gardens will return in 2017 on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of September in the Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
The annual Art in the Gardens event, held in Sheffield Botanical Gardens, is arguably the largest outdoor art exhibition in the north of England with artists, craft makers and visitors coming from throughout the UK.
This event is a truly wonderful opportunity to buy the perfect piece of art or craft direct from the artists, whilst enjoying the perfect surroundings that the gardens have to offer. Thousands of pieces of art and craft are on show and for sale. On the day you will find:
TV sports presenter Rob Walker is the subject for the Portraits of Distinction Exhibition at Art in the Gardens.
A fantastic selection of photographs have been captured by Trevor Neal from an excellent shoot taken while Rob was Master of Ceremony at the World Snooker Championships. The photographs are available to artists interested in entering the competition from Sheffield’s Town Hall Reception.
Each year the event hosts some of the very best artists locally, regionally and arguably from the UK! Just a few of the artists include: Trevor Neal, Helen Parsley, Gareth Watling, John Paul Cooke, Tim Rose, Carol Baker, Wendy Carlton, Lynne Wilkinson, and many more at the peak of their craft.
Open Art Exhibition
The Open Art Exhibition takes place in the largest marquee at the event and is a great opportunity for amateur and semi-professional artists to exhibit their work to thousands of visitors.
The Preview Evening on Friday 1st September 6.00pm – 9.00pm, is a wonderful opportunity to be amongst the first to view and snap up the bargains and favourite pieces of artwork on display, whilst enjoying a glass of wine and a great atmosphere. Please be aware to purchase tickets early as this year tickets will be limited £6 ticket admits two adults (sorry no children permitted). Tickets are available from June 2017 at Sheffield’s Visitor Information Point on Surrey Street next to Winter Gardens.
