How to stay on top of interior trends in a rented flat!

Living at Clarendon Quarter is all about choice. Want to bring that coffee table you love so much? That’s cool. Fancy ours? That’s totally fine too. We put residents at the heart of everything we do so you can have total freedom when you stay with us. We’ve lined up some top tips on how to adapt this year’s top interior trends for your rented space.

We’ll start with the word of the moment: curate.  Don’t worry, we’re not suggesting that you turn your space into Leeds City Museum. (Hey, if that’s your style – go for it.) What we’re talking about is choosing key pieces that appeal to you. It could be a vintage lamp you loved, a brand new print or even a selection of your favourite magazines. The only rule? You need to love it. Think mix ‘n’ match, an eclectic mix, a perfect storm of style. The result? Making a space your own, filled with things you love – now that’s a trend we can get on board with.

Our second favourite trend? Leaning frames! Hanging heavy frames is so thousand-and-late. Ok, so we’re tailoring to rented spaces where hanging frames isn’t always possible – but bear with us. The best thing about this trend is that you can choose any space you like – you don’t even need a wall! Think kitchen counter tops, bookshelves or even windows. If you’re feeling bold, you could even buy a large standing frame. Not only will this create a striking focal point, it will be a great conversation starter for any guests. All the choice without the commitment of hanging? Sounds ideal to us.

We’ve got to talk about cushions. So small, but so addictive. With high street stores like H&M, Next and Oliver Bonas stepping up their game, you’re spoiled for choice. With prices starting from as little as £10, the only limit is what you can carry. Also, maybe what can fit on your sofa! Need colour inspiration? We still love millennial pink (suitable for all ages) as well as bolder colours like ochre and forest green. Go ahead, get your cushion on!
